Celebrating Black History Month!

Join Us For Our Story Time event on February 28th at 7 PM.

In celebration of Black History Month, we will be reading The 1619 Project: Born on the Water by Nikole Hannah-Jones and Renee Watson.

Parents will receive a pre-reading guide that they can use to help prepare their children for the reading of the story. It will include activities to do prior to the event, as well as terms and concepts to review with their children.

The night’s activities will include the following:

Three Realms Approach to Learning

At In Purpose Educational Services, we believe in the ability of every person to create equity in one of three realms:

  • Personal Development and Action

  • Group Development and Action

  • Organizational Development and Action

Each realm is important to creating an equitable community for our families, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. Each program and resource is designed to teach you valuable skills and build your knowledge of equity-based issues. As you progress through each program, you’ll find that they build upon one another to provide you with a complete understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work and what actions you can take to create change in your realms of influence.

What makes IPES different is that we do not just teach you about DEI, but we also coach you on how to take action that will positively impact your community!

personal development and action

This realm is all about your personal growth and development. Our personal development and action programs are leveled so that you can gain deeper knowledge with each program you successfully complete. We offer you options that allow you to learn at your own pace and convenience, reflect on your social contexts and influences, practice valuable skills and abilities, and take action in ways that help, not harm, your diverse community.

Group Development and Action

In this realm, individuals explore the idea of collective learning and action within their social and professional groups. In group development programs, individuals come together and learn how to be leaders in DEI. IPES group programs are designed to allow you to listen to the experiences of others for the purpose of developing strong friendships while learning. We teach you how to engage in constructive conversations and allow you the opportunities to do so as you interact with diverse groups of individuals who are also striving to make equitable change in your community.

Organizational development and action

This realm is for leaders of organizations, schools and school districts, companies, and nonprofits that are determined to make a significant impact in their communities and areas of influence. We have standardized programs, as well as custom-designed training, that will fit any organization’s needs. As CEOs, directors, superintendents, and other leaders look for ways to create inclusive environments in their workplaces, they need effective programming that inspires their employees to get on board and engage in the process fully. Our training is built to do the following:

  • teach your employees and staff how to engage in the learning and growth process

  • provide your employees and staff with skills for processing the information

  • encourage participation from your staff members

  • support development of strategic plans that include DEI goals and specific actions for change

At IPES, Our Goals Are Simple.

We aRe here to create leaders capable of making the changes necessary to create more equitable communities!

Clients are often surprised when we tell them that we are not here to create perpetual clients; we are here to arm the individuals, organizations, schools, and companies with the tools that they need to create their own diversity, equity, and inclusion leaders. IPES programs are designed to build the skills and knowledge that you will need to continue learning and pressing forward with your work in this area. Our hope is always to create a bigger table and to invite you to pull up a chair and join us.
